I must say i’m a little annoyed...
...that I didn’t discover the Aurora Basstrombone by Schagerl earlier in my career.
Having been a Bach player my entire professional life, I must honestly say I walked into the Schagerl showroom in Mank with a good portion of scepticism to try a few instruments.
That scepticism was soon blown away by the incredible ease and sound of the Schagerl basstrombones.
I have been looking for a new instrument for the last couple of years, wanting something with a great response, open, freeblowing feel, with a great flexibility in sound. And that is just what I found in theAurora basstrombone.
I have tried a few different combinations, but soon I fell for the yellow brass bell combined with a dual bore slide.
This instrument produces a dark and focused sound in all registers, a warm pp and a glowing ff, making it the perfect instrument for me.
I must also mention that the valves (Hagmann) and the slide are working impeccably and overall making this instrument a joy to play!
I now play the Schagerl Aurora Basstrombone exclusively, and I am grateful for finding this incredible instrument.
